Surrender to Nature Yoga Retreat

 Friday 5th of August- Sunday 7th of August, Tiverton

Come and stay at this beautiful mill house. From every window we see gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and as the house faces due south it is often flooded with light. Until the 1980s, the mill house was a working flour mill and many of its original features have been preserved. On the ground floor you will find the original workings of the mill wheel, a large wood-burning stove, and even a piano. The whole first floor is one huge space perfect for big families and groups of friends and spills out onto a south facing balcony.

A stream surrounds the whole of the amazing estate, turning it into a small island of calm. to allow you to unwind and enjoy the peace, the land and the company of the Indian runner ducks who call the pond home.

You’ll have shared access to the full 8-acre site: a woodland fire pit, millpond with a rowing boat and surrounding waterways, permaculture gardens, and beautiful meadows. There’s lots of room to explore, play games and enjoy the incredible diversity of wildlife we have on site. There are walks and boat hire on the Tiverton canal, the climb up Culmstock Beacon, farmer’s markets, country pubs and even the coast under an hour away, so you could spend a day at the beach before coming back to see what the ducks have been up to and relax into the quiet of the woodland.

'Connecting to your Sacral'
Sacred Women Circle

Join this women’s workshop to explore your sacral energy centre, your womb space, with gentle movement, breathwork and spiritual connections. Within a beautiful sacred space set for you to feel relaxed. You will move your body with guidance and the intention to soften and open your awareness to your sensations. Then you will be led through a specific breath practice designed to get out of your mind and into your body even more. The breathwork allows you to clear blocks which are stuck emotions and to open to your being. You will experience a slowing down as you drop into your body and finish by opening your heart with a guided relaxing meditation. ‘The time for healing old patterns and stuck energy is now. Self-love is waiting to be discovered and awakened within.’ David Elliot

– There will be time to connect and share together with tea after the breath work.

 – You will need water to drink, a blanket, and warm socks if you feel the cold.

– You may like to bring an eye pillow and sacred items such as crystals for support.

– Plus, a journal, pen/pencil and a cup for tea.

4 Week Beginners Yoga Course

This beginners course is open to everyone who maybe seeking the mental and physical benefits of yoga. This is a great place to start if you don’t know anything about yoga. For those with an open mind and the willingness to learn, come and try something new. 

In each yoga class, we will be taking each yoga pose at a much slower pace and breaking each pose down to ensure that care and attention is being paid to your alignment and form so that you will learn how to practice yoga in an effective and safe way all while ensuring you come out feeling meditated and calm. 

A different family of poses will be looked into and practiced each week so that you get an all-round introduction to yoga and learn a variety of different poses that may be used in future classes. This class is perfect for complete novices, anyone returning to the practice following a hiatus, or seasoned practitioners who wish to address bad habits, and focus on better alignment. 

Self Care Saturday

With the longer days and warmer weather now with us, it can be tempting to pack even more into our already busy lives. Slowing down and taking stock to identify where in your life you could use some extra self-care is an important now as any other time. This workshop will involve some discussion and sharing about self-care needs and practices, a yin/yang yoga practice and self-massage techniques that are easily practiced at home.

Join us for another yoga adventure and scenery coastal walk around Noss Mayo. A lovely walk all year round with plenty to see from stunning coastal views, woodlands leading right down to the estuary edge and the beautiful village of Noss Mayo.

This four-mile moderate circular walk takes you alongside the River Yealm and onto one of the most stunning stretches of the South West Coast Path- at Wembury Bay in the South Hams. This is not a strenuous walk, but you need to be reasonably fit as there is some difficult hills to walk up.

We start the walk from the National Trust car park in Noss Mayo and head north to Newton Creek. You will witness the many faces of maritime South Devon in one walk; the wild open sea and rugged coast, a sheltered estuary, wooded riverbanks, and the waterfront villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers with their chocolate box charm. As well as the 90–120-minute walk, you will also participate in some mindful breathwork, 2 gentle yoga classes, a delicious lunch and some Crystal Bowl mediation to finish up the afternoon.
